Teacher Appreciation Week
Training teachers and principles have been a blast and a huge part of what makes being a coach special. We get to help the people, that help people.
You all arrive early and spend countless hours after schoo to make your jobs happen. You are willing to sacrifice you valuable time to help other human beings prosper. Amazing people!
In the near future, I hope you will be able to dedicate more time to YOU. Feeling your healthiest is super important when dealing with the year to year grind of teaching.
Here are a few tips teachers can implement today, to help you reach your short and long term health and fitness goals.
• Quick workouts are key. Am or PM, either way you have to be in-and-out. 45 minutes is best but if you only have 20 minutes that is completely fine as well.
• Routine is key. Each workout does not have to be at 100% intensity, but it has to happen.
• Train with fellow teachers directly after school. Use a classroom or the gym. Pop in a workout DVD for instruction if needed.
• In home workouts save time. You don't have to say it, I will, you probably don't want to work out in a crowded gym and potentially have to stop and talk to acquaintances and other people you may know from work. Also this eliminates and extra driving time.
• Think ahead. Pack clothes and shoes days ahead of time.
• Do not stop at home first. If your plan is to go to the gym, stopping at home is a sure way to derail motivation.
• Pack a preworkout snack. Granola, PBnJ, ect... May take some time to discover what works best for you.
• Lose the guilt. No need feeling guilty for leaving the kids behind. The pets are ok. Because the truth is, if you are not in good health, who will take care of your loved ones when you are unable to.
We love you all and appreciate everything that you do for our communities and kids!!
