One of the most
important decisions you can make about your health and fitness right now choosing the truly valuable over the shiny & new.
See, that pull of the new and novel is something that all of us face, but all too often it’s fool’s gold.
Now this doesn’t mean that you should be set in your ways and never willing to change & evolve. Almost everything can be improved on.
But let's not assume something that is new is better.
You should continually be looking for ways to improve...not just change.
And here’s a secret:
Those things that seem ‘new’ are almost always remakes of something old.
Those ads on google are remakes of the classified ads we’ve seen for decades.
Those diets that have come out in the last decade or two, are just renamed concepts from the 80's and 90's.
Training routines have evolved but there are a strong handful of movements that will always be apart of an efficient training program.
The challenges that recently became popular in the internet world are over 2 decades old in the mainstream fitness industry.
So, when you’re looking at ways to revamp your fitness, don’t instantly assume that ‘new’ is better.
In many cases, it’s not.
Instead, look for things that are valuable.
Proven.
Perhaps even take something that was successful executed by you in the past and remake it.
New may be exciting but better is the key to success.
