Good morning fam,
If you're an endurance athlete, you know that the right fuel can make or break your performance. So today, lets talk about the powerhouse of endurance nutrition: carbohydrates.
Carbs: Your Endurance Rocket Fuel
Carbohydrates are like rocket fuel for your body, especially during those long workouts or marathon runs. They provide quick energy, keeping you going when you'd
otherwise hit a wall.
The Science: When you eat carbs, your body converts them into glycogen, stored in your muscles and liver. Glycogen is your body's go-to energy source during exercise.
Practical Example: Think of glycogen as the fuel in your car's gas tank. The more you have, the longer you can drive without refueling right.
Top Tip: Aim to get 50-65% of your daily calories from carbs. If you train 1 hour a day, that's about 5-7g of carbs per kilogram of body
weight.
So, next time you lace up those running shoes, hop on your bike, or got a log powerlfting sesh coming up, remember to fuel up with carbs. Your body will thank you for it.
Stay tuned for our next email, where we'll dive into the nitty-gritty of how much carb loading is enough.
Keep up the great work!
